Incident Information:
The Highland Fire began on October 30, 2023 in the unincorporated community of Aguanga. As of November 5th, the fire is now 100% contained. All evacuations and road closures have been lifted. RivCo Emergency Management Department - Disaster Recovery Information (Start Here)
Provides a comprehensive list of programs and resources for residents, businesses, and property owners, who are in the disaster recovery process. The recovery function of the Emergency Management Department works to ensure that all state and federal support available is extended to applicants in an efficient and timely manner in order to assist in recovery from a major disaster or emergency.
Inland SoCal United Way - Riverside and San Bernardino County Wildfire Fund
Offers financial assistance to those who have been affected by the fire (*based on funding availability). Assistance can be used to help replace lost items, or to help pay for hotel stays, deposits on new housing, or other fire-related needs. To apply for assistance, residents must submit a complete application.

Riverside County Assessor-County Clerk-Recorder - Disaster Relief
If a wildfire damages or destroys your property, you may be eligible for property tax relief. In such cases, the Assessor's office will reappraise the property to reflect its damaged condition. Then, when you rebuild it in a like or similar manner, the property will retain its previous value for tax purposes.
To qualify, you must file an Application for Reassessment (ACR 702) with the Assessor's office within 12 months from the date the property was damaged or destroyed. In addition, the loss must exceed $10,000. For more information about this program or to apply, visit:
